A unique Birmingham start-up is set to launch later this year, promising an experience that is the first of its kind in the UK.
The brainchild of Birmingham entrepreneur Daniel Bridgewater, Buckt is a subscription box inspired by the idea of a bucket list.
8-10 activities are delivered to subscribers doors each month. Included in each box is tickets to top attractions, discounts on higher end bucket list activities, invitations to unique and obscure events and money-can’t-buy bucket list challenges.
The business was inspired by heartbreak after 24 year old Dan broke up with his long-term girlfriend. “I was down in the dumps and feeling pretty despondent, so I decided to write a bucket list to keep me focused on the future and the exciting things that were still to come”.
He continues: “I realised that bucket lists were more than just a list of things to do, but represented freedom, living, escape from mundanity. This, combined with an interest in the subscription box model, led to a moment of inspiration, and Buckt was born.”
Talking about research the team conducted, Dan states: “94% of those that completed our survey either ‘like’ or ‘really like’ the concept, so we’re really confident it’s going to be a hit”.
The company, which states that its mission is ‘to make people feel alive again’, is experiencing early success after recently finding out that they had made it through to the final three of the Baldwins Kickstart business competition. In front of an audience of 500 people, they will compete for over £20,000 of cash and business support.
Furthermore, national brands including Planet Ice, HeliAdventures, YogaHaven and Golfbug have already signed up and many more are to be confirmed ready for their January 2017 launch.
Buckt is currently running a crowdfunder to raise funds to help with their launch. You can pledge for a range of things including reduced price Buckt boxes at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/buckt or find our more at their website www.buckt.uk.
