A pair of professionals from a leading Coventry and Warwickshire-based law firm have leapt from a plane to raise more than £1,000 for a hospice specialising in providing care for babies and young children.
Jodie Bond and Gemma Hoskin from Mander Hadley Solicitors, which has offices in Coventry and Kenilworth, took part in a sponsored sky dive on Saturday 9 September 2017 to raise funds for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.
Zoe’s Place is an independent registered charity, providing palliative, respite and end of life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five years, suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
Taking off from Hinton Skydiving Centre, near Brackley in Northamptonshire, the pair ascended to an altitude of 13,000ft before leaping in tandem with their experienced instructors.
The pair’s combined fundraising total now stands at £1,430, with Jodie having raised £680 and Gemma having raised £750 for Zoe’s Place.
Jodie said: “The experience was terrifying, unforgettable and exhilarating, but most of all it is rewarding to know that we have been able to raise such a good sum for an important cause.”
Gemma added: “The flight up on the plane was nerve-wracking, but the jump was an incredible experience and it is wonderful to have been able to raise so much for Zoe’s Place.”
Jonathan Hall, Managing Director at Mander Hadley Solicitors, said: “We are all very proud of Jodie and Gemma for their efforts. They have raised a great sum for a very deserving cause.”
