Conference Centre & Hotel picks up National recognition for excellence
College Court have been awarded the prestigious ‘Best Customer Service’ in the Academic Venue Awards hosted at the Queen Mary University of London on Wednesday 22nd November.
College Court, the University of Leicester’s conference centre and hotel, had received four finalist positions in the awards. The Academic Venue Awards celebrated the best of the best and brought together the UK’s top Academic Venues together with event buyers to network, share best practice, highlight progress and celebrate successes.
The nominations were for ‘Best Accommodation’, ‘Best Conference Venue’ and ‘Best Customer Service’ with the addition of ‘Best Residential Venue of The Year’ and on the day came away with as winners of ‘Best Customer Service’ something the team at College Court are extremely proud of.
Steve Crawford, Centre Director at College Court says: “I am extremely proud to have won the ‘Best Customer Service’ award, just to have been nominated as finalists in our categories was incredible but to collect this award on behalf of whole team was something truly special. Over the years we have been recognised in many areas of our business but we were especially proud when we were shortlisted in these national awards, truly showing the excellence of our hotel, conferencing, marketing and of course our incredible and dedicated team. I believe this win will strengthen our already outstanding service levels enabling our staff to continue to go above and beyond at every opportunity.”
The organisers of the event, Conference News, an industry magazine and digital news platform, plan to run the Awards on an annual basis going forward and look forward to continuing to recognise the outstanding conference and event facilities available at our Academic Venues.
College Court are also finalists for the annual Leicestershire Promotions Tourism & Hospitality Awards 2017. The awards ceremony will be held at Athena in Leicester on 30 November 2017 and sponsors include Everards, Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council. College Court has been shortlisted in the categories of ‘Best Team 2017’, ‘Most Enjoyable Stay’ and ‘Best Website’. Leicester Conferences, who are partners with College Court under the new brand Leicester Conferences, has also received a nod for ‘Innovative Business Tourism Partner’ as has the University’s Botanic Garden for ‘Best Garden or Landscape’.
There are 77 separate organisations shortlisted across the 21 categories including conference venues, visitor attractions, museums, cafes and restaurants, accommodation providers, festivals and events, and market towns.
