Fans of TV show The Apprentice are being invited to an evening with James White, the Birmingham-based contestant who is currently vying for a £250,000 investment from billionaire business mogul Lord Sugar.
Opus, one of the city’s leading fine dining restaurants, is hosting Insight With James White on Wednesday, November 22, when guests will be invited to dine and watch the eighth episode live on large-screen TVs with the Apprentice hopeful himself.
Diners will also have the opportunity to ask the 26-year-old entrepreneur, who runs Right Time Recruitment Ltd for IT specialists in Birmingham, questions about his experience on the show and his business success. But don’t expect the winner of the series to be revealed – that’s all strictly under wraps!
Pawel Skrzypinski, general manager at Opus, said: “This promises to be a really fun evening with the superb food you’d expect from Opus plus the opportunity to meet with Birmingham’s own contender for The Apprentice crown and watch him in action on the show. We’re expecting some fun revelations about being in the series and are looking forward to hearing about James’s business hopes.”
Ambitious James, a white collar boxer who was dubbed ‘Del Boy’ when he was growing up in Colchester, Essex, younger, has long had an entrepreneurial streak. When he was 12, he set up a car valeting business in his local village, which had an average turnover of £200 a week and about 40 customers every week.
After attaining a degree in international business from the University in Keele, he began his career in Birmingham with Allegis Group, working his way to senior consultant/head of infrastructure and becoming the top performer within Europe.
He launched Right Time Recruitment in September last year, which enables IT clients to hire professionals on both a contract and a permanent basis, and decided to apply for The Apprentice this year because he considered the investment from a high-profile businessman such as Lord Sugar would enable the business to pair with larger scale corporates.
James said he will seek further investment for RTR whatever the outcome of the show.
“I have really enjoyed being part of The Apprentice experience and it has given me some excellent publicity, which has opened up significant opportunities for Right Time Recruitment and me personally,” said James, who also works as a motivational speaker.
“I absolutely love living in Birmingham and could think of nowhere better to launch my business. The Birmingham professional community is one I am keen to engage with and share some behind the scenes anecdotes. Opus is a fantastic location to do this with its private dining facilities and I can’t wait to see what the head chef Ben Ternet will be cooking up.”
Insight With James White costs £32.50 per person and includes two courses plus wine. To secure your place at this exclusive event, click Here
