Two of Beswicks Legal’s rising stars have completed their training contracts and are celebrating becoming fully-qualified solicitors.

Jessica Hancock and Waseem Ahmed both joined Beswicks in 2016 as paralegals, but quickly impressed the managing partners, as well as clients, and were rewarded with training contracts.

Jess said: “It’s funny how our careers have progressed in parallel. We actually went to college together, both completed Staffordshire University’s Legal Practice Course in 2015, and both worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Manchester before joining Beswicks as paralegals. Needless to say, we are great friends!”

Waseem added: “Both Jess and I are delighted to qualify. We’ve been fortunate enough to experience a number of areas of law and learn from some of the very best solicitors in the country at Beswicks. It’s been an incredible training ground and we’re so proud to now be fully qualified solicitors.”

Beswicks managing partner Nick Phillips had faith in the duo from day one: “It was absolutely clear to me that both Jess and Waseem possessed all of the qualities that we look for at Beswicks. They are incredibly bright and motivated, but in addition to having excellent legal knowledge and sharp minds, they are warm, friendly, team players who give an outstanding service to clients.”

The team at Beswicks Legal held a barbecue at their Festival Park offices to celebrate Jess and Waseem completing their training contracts.

Jess and Waseem are now both practising in Beswicks’ disputes team, which is recognised as top tier by the Legal 500.
